This year District 54 Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee, the Department of Language and Culture and the Schaumburg Park District will once again host A Garden of Diversity: A Multicultural Event for District 54 families and community members at the Schaumburg Community Recreation Center.

There will also be crafts and games for families and students to enjoy.
We hope that many District 54 families will join us for this fantastic afternoon.

The long awaited movie premiere of the Magical Land of Oz is happening May 18th. Save the date! This is one movie premiere you won’t want to miss! Bring your camera, as the stars of the movie will be in attendance. Door will open at 7pm. Keller Council will be selling popcorn ,drinks and snacks.
Let’s help to celebrate Earth Hour.
On Saturday,March 31, 2012 from 8:30-9:30 p.m. we are being asked to turn off non-essential lights
for one hour. This is a global event organized by the World Wildlife Fund.
The district will turn off all unnecessary outside lights in support of this event.

Coming this May to a Keller classroom near you is the movie extravaganza, The Magical Land of Oz. This is a film adaptation of the play by the same name. This film is starring Keller’s Alyssa R as Dorothy, Ebuka U as the Tin man, Tyler G as the scarecrow, Deanna S as the lion, Shachi S as the Wicked Witch of the West, Megan M as OZ, Katherine C as Glinda and many others as the munchkins, citizens of Oz and the flying monkeys. This movie is being filmed here at Keller and is being directed and edited by many talented students. Keep an eye out for the announcement of the premiere night, which will happen in May.
Wildcats, beginning on Thursday December 1st we will be collecting donations of non-perishable food items to help restock the Schaumburg Township food pantry. As Anti-Bullying Week begins across America, Keller is kicking off a week of activities encouraging respectful behavior both inside and outside of school. With an all school assembly, special homeroom activities and public service announcements from TV stars, musicians and President Obama, students will be constantly reminded of the importance of treating one another with respect.
