Homework Deadlines for 8th grade students

HOMEWORK DEADLINES & CONSEQUENCES FOR 8^TH GRADE STUDENTS

 In order for students to walk at graduation all work must be turned in by May 29^th

Parent/Guardian of students with missing assignments are being notified by Homeroom & Office Staff

Students with 3 or more missing assignments:  After school detention every TU & TH-begins MAY 8^th

Students with 3 or more missing assignments by MAY 11^TH will not attend the PTA Assembly

Students with 3 or more missing assignments by MAY 18^TH will not attend the Talent Show

Students with 3 or more missing assignments by MAY 22^ND will not attend the Movie

Students with 3 or more missing assignments by MAY 24^TH will not attend the Picnic

Students with 3 or more missing assignments by MAY 25^TH will not attend the Dance

Students with 1 or more missing assignments by MAY 29^TH will not attend the Graduation Ceremony

Constitution Test

100% of our 7^thgrade students passed the Constitution test the first time!
 Kudos to our 7^th grade Social Studies teachers as well!

District 54 Food Pantry

The District 54 Food Pantry program has teamed up with the GFS Marketplace Fun Funds program.
What are Fun Funds?
· It is a program that every time you shop at GFS, it offers a year round rebate program of up to 10% that goes to the Food Pantry.
· GFS does not charge a membership fee and is opened to the public

Third Trimester Graduation Requirement

Beginning at the start of the third trimester, February 27th, all 8th grade students must complete all assignments. Students who do not complete all work to teacher expectations will not be eligible to participate in the 8th grade graduation ceremony. This is a School District 54 policy. Please note that students are now able to access and review both grades and missing assignments online from home. Parents who have completed the parent portal agreement will also be able to view their child’s progress. Let’s work together to ensure that all Keller 8th graders are able to proudly walk across the stage this June.

Progress Reports

Progress reports went home yesterday.  Please make sure you look those over, sign and have your child return them by Friday.  The trimester ends Friday February 24th.

Winter Conferences

The second session of student led conferences for the 2011-12 school year will take place on January 12th and 13th. Please sign up for a student led conference hosted by your child’s homeroom teacher by returning the conference letter or by sending an email to reserve a time slot. Conferences may be scheduled from 1-4pm on Thursday, from 5:30-7:30pm Thursday evening or at 7:30 and 8:30am on Friday morning. Your children and their teachers look forward to sharing updates about academic achievement as well as progress made toward goals set in the fall. Hope to see you next week.

Winter Concerts

Keller’s Orchestra, Chorus and Hand Chime’s Club are performing  Monday December 12th,  at 7pm in Keller’s gym. 

Keller’s Band will be performing Tuesday December 13th, at 7 pm in Keller’s gym.
