Sports, Intramurals and Clubs
During the course of the school year, there are a number of activities and events that are available to students that want to get involved outside of the classroom.
Athletics
Students must have a current physical on file and maintain academic eligibility in order to participate.
September – October

All Year Activities
Character Council: The Council is in charge of organizing many student events throughout the year such as dances, the ice-cream social, donut days, spirit weeks and school wide community service projects. Meetings are held monthly in the mornings.

Memory Catchers: Keller’s yearbook staff takes pictures throughout the year, create photo captions, create the pages, and help design the yearbook cover. They also help with the distribution of yearbooks in June.

Intramurals: Three times during the school year intramural activities are offered to all students at Keller. Various activities and sports are offered during these times.

Study Club: Teachers are available to help students with assignments, make-up work, and projects after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays when the library stays open until 4 p.m. Students may use the LMC computers and reference materials as well as checkout books.

Fall Activities
Great American Scholar: Students meet before and after school to prepare for the annual National Geographic’s Geography Bee in January. At club meetings, we play games, make up geography questions, review previous tests, and challenge one another geographically.

Winter Activities
Art Club: This club meets once a week in the art room. Activities will be provided for students that want to be challenged. (T-shirt printing, pottery wheel, mural, etc.) Members of Art club can also use this time to work independently on their own drawings, painting, or sculptures. Art club is a studio based club.

G.E.M.S.: Girls in Engineering, Math, and Science meet weekly to study the areas of science using math skills. This session focuses on building robotics.

Career Club: Students will investigate a variety of continuing education and career opportunities through the use of interest surveys and careercruising.com. Students will help organize an annual career fair.

Math Counts: Math Counts is a club that meets to work on challenging math problems for junior high students, play strategic games, and work on mathematical puzzles. Students meet bi-monthly after school and may participate in a regional competition against other junior high students in the area. New to the program this year is an interactive online challenge where students compete head to head with other students from countries all around the world. Math Counts is guaranteed to challenge the mind of even the most advanced math student.

Musical Movie:
Keller’s very first production of a musical movie. This year we will be doing The Magical Land of Oz. Tryouts will begin in September. Production crew will begin in October.
