Dear Keller Families,

The students are off to a fantastic start of second trimester. I firmly believe a successful and positive tone for the trimester has been set by both the staff and students.  This week, my message to the students again centered on EXPECTING SUCCESS!  My coaching to the students is that to expect success we must WORK HARD!  I told them that nothing worthwhile comes without hard work.  To reach goals, overcome obstacles, maximize opportunities, and become the version of our best selves, there are no short cuts.  Just a daily investment at working hard in everything you do.  TOGETHER AS ONE, WORK HARD AND EXPECT SUCCESS!!

Lastly, as we look to Veterans Day, Keller Junior High would also like to extend our appreciation and respect for those who have served or are currently serving our country. Thank you for your service and the sacrifices you have made.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact our front office staff or me.  Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and support and we will work “TOGETHER AS ONE” to ensure the success of our students.

Regards,

Tom Barbini
Principal

November Parent-Teacher Conferences
School District 54 is making it easier than ever for families to schedule conferences with teachers. We’ve partnered with “Meet the Teacher” to provide a mobile-friendly and easy-to-use system that creates a simple and streamlined scheduling experience. To login and schedule a conference, please visit https://schooldistrict54.meettheteacher.com/ and enter the information in the text fields. Please make sure you enter the information that matches the student’s registration. If you have more than one child in District 54, you will only have to use one child’s information to login. The system will show you options for all the students in your household after you login once.

Once you’re in the system, you’ll be able to select your child’s/children’s teacher(s) and your preferred dates and times. If you prefer to have your conference virtually via Zoom, please add a message to the conference when prompted and type in the word “Zoom.”  If you prefer to have an in-person conference, please leave this blank. If you would like to change or delete any scheduled conferences, you can do so by logging in again with the same information. We encourage you to bookmark the website https://schooldistrict54.meettheteacher.com/ on your phone, tablet, or desktop to review, possibly make changes, and for future parent-teacher conference sessions.

When signing up for a conference, you will select a fifteen-minute window.  The first ten minutes have been allocated for your conference, with the remaining five minutes designated as travel time to attend your next conference.  We ask that you please limit your conference to these first ten minutes out of respect for other families that are waiting to conference at their scheduled time.  If more time is needed, your child’s teacher will look to schedule another time to connect and continue the conversation.  The scheduler will close on November 16th, so please sign up before then.

For more detailed information on how to login and navigate the site, please view our guide below.

If you have any questions, please call our main office at 847-357-6500 or email [email protected].

Keller Book Fair During Conferences
We’re excited to invite you to our upcoming Scholastic Book Fair.  Hosted by our staff, this event is an opportunity for students of all ages to build their home libraries and further their love of reading.  Here’s what you need to know about the Fair, which will take place from in-person from November 13-21 and online during the same dates.

This year, say goodbye to cash and hello to eWallet—your child’s digital payment account. Before the Fair, set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute! Share each child’s eWallet so friends and family can add funds and give your kids more books to enjoy.

If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will also benefit our school.

Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/kellerjuniorhighschool1
