The Keller Junior High Student Ambassadors and PTA teamed up to host the Keller Kindness Event on Monday, February 7. During this event and throughout the week students created over 180 cards for residents at Friendship Village and individuals receiving services from the Kenneth Young Center.
They also hosted a collection of toiletry sized items and snacks for the Kenneth Young Center. Our drive was a success thanks to your support! We provided snacks and four boxes of toiletries to the Kenneth Young Center!
Visit the Keller PTA and Kenneth Young Center social media posts to see firsthand how these supplies helped! You can also see pictures of the event, cards, and supplies here.
The Keller Kindness Event is part of our continued work with the National PTA School of Excellence (SOE) program. This year we are focusing on the Supporting the Arts aspect of the SOE through the Keller Kindness event. We want to highlight the importance of the arts in our school and how we can use arts to connect to our community through acts of service and acceptance.
On Tuesday, May 3 we celebrated being recognized as a National School of Excellence and the winner of the prestigious Phoebe Apperson Hearst award! Check out our web page to view pictures from the event and additional information about our program.
